Approx. 8 3/4 inches tall, approx. 2 1/8 inches wide at the rim, approx. 1 5/8 inches wide at the base, & approx. 2 5/8 at widest point.
This Eliza Simmance vase is Spectacular.
An Eliza Simmance for Doulton Lambeth stoneware vase, circa 1891-1895. This is a tapered formed vase with an elongated, flared neck. Featuring beautiful floral blossoms, beading in earth tones with shades of blue, green, cobalt, light Blue, and brown over a cream colored background.
Eliza Simmance, as a designer, was one of the cornerstones of the change at Doultons from the High Victorian Gothic designs to simpler flowing Art Nouveau and Art Deco designs. This tubelined and beaded stoneware vase is an excellent example of her work.
She started work at Doultons in 1873 and finished in 1928 – a period of 55 years. She worked with the illustrious Barlow Family, Arthur, Florence, Hannah and Lucy, but by 1880 she already had a staff of artists under her turning out her designs. Fortunately for us, and unlike many of her contemporary designers, she signed many of her pieces.
This beautiful Doulton Lambeth Bud Vase by ELIZA SIMMANCE is in excellent used antique condition. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs that I can see.
